Guglielmo Vicario Edges Closer Towards Exit Door After Club to Club Agreement Reached

Juventus have agreed a deal with Tottenham for the transfer of goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario initially on loan with an £8.5 million buy option upon the conclusion of the 2026/27 season.

The Italian has been subject to interest from the 36-time Scudetto champions throughout the entirety of the summer window, following Roberto De Zerbi’s decision to allow the Lilywhites keeper to leave.

After the collapses of moves for Aston Villa keeper Eli Martinez and Parma’s Zion Suzuki, the Old Lady accelerated their pursuit of Vicario.

Spurs acquired Vicario in 2023 for just over £17 million. In that time, he has made 117 appearances and kept 29 clean sheets.

The arrival of Martin Dubravka and promotion of Antonin Kinsky to De Zerbi’s number 1 suggested Vicario had become surplus to requirements, despite starting every Premier League fixture before injury in March of last season.

Vicario’s proposed departure comes after a busy week of outgoings at Spurs. Djed Spence and Cristian Romero sealed moves away from the club early last week before Ashley Phillips’ move to Middlesbrough was confirmed on Saturday.

It is unlikely Spurs will step back into the goalkeeper market for this window at least, with the priority now to sign at least two attackers.

Savinho and Cody Gakpo are the most likely targets, with club-to-club agreements for the pair proving difficult to come by as things stand.
